4.7 / 52011 Jetta Sportwagen 2.5 SE, screws used to install license plates were too long and scratched the paint behind the plate holder. I arranged the visit by phone and brought the car in. The service manager, Mike, removed the plate and holder, examined the damage, with the screws not going all the way into the metal he touched up with touch up paint and clear coat, they also showed me the repair before re-installing the plate and holder.They handle the repair quickly, showed me proper courtesy and didn't make me feel like I was over reacting. ”Purchased a used 2011 Jetta Sportwagen 2.5 SE. Negotiation was less drawn out and painful than I am used to. Salesperson was fairly knowledgeable but was unable to answer/explain everything I inquired about. Vehicle details listed on the website and the window sticker were not accurate, mostly minor things and nothing that would be a deal breaker, but the car was a CPO and they never mentioned that fact. I try to be more knowledgeable than the salesperson before I visit a dealership about the vehicle I am interested in, so I had no surprises. The paperwork took longer than it should have, double the time it took for my wife to purchase her car at another dealership the same day. But perhaps I am just too chatty. As far as the nuts and bolts, I feel I got a fair deal, reasonable price for the new car and fair value for my trade. ”My service experience was very good, as it always has been at Volkswagon of Schenectady. I was able to get an appointment when I needed it. I needed an oil change, and I had questions about a couple potential problems that had been identified by another dealership. Volkswagon of Schenectady diagnosed the problems, told me one of them did not need to be addressed (there was no problem) and took care of the one real problem they found. Their diagnosis solved the problem and saved me hundreds of dollars over the repair recommended by the other dealership. The service manager thoroughly explained all the needed work. The work was done quickly and correctly. Everyone I dealt with was courteous, friendly, and professional. The charges for the work performed were reasonable. ”The service staff were very personable and efficient, both on the phone and when I was at the dealership. The window problem, which apparently was an assembly error at the factory, was diagnosed quickly and repaired within the day. The windows seem to be working well and the car remains thoroughly enjoyable. I should point out that we were also contacted by the general manager and by VW Customer Care several times to make sure everything was going okay. ”We purchased a 2013 VW Beetle Convertible and received a great deal from Schenectady VW. The sales process was basically painless, particularly considering we switched to a higher level car during the negotiations. Everyone from the sales representative to the financial person and manager was most pleasant and professional. The car was prepped well and our salesperson gave us an excellent tutorial on the car's features. I was thinking of a four star rating since apparently they sold so many cars over Memorial Day weekend that we had a bit of a wait when we arrived on the evening after Memorial Day for our appointment to pick up the car. But everyone was profusely apologetic and we left with a very good feeling for the dealership, so I felt that overall the dealership deserved five stars.
